Action mechanism of Luvox


Fluvoxamine is known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. Dosage administration of Luvox


Luvox 50mg is accessible into the form of oral immediate release or extended release tablets. In case of extended release formulation, the patient should have to take the dose of 100mg once in a day orally with enough amount of water for obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, in the case of initial immediate release tablet, the patient should have to take a dose of 50mg once a day at the bedtime. The maintenance dose should be in the range of 50 to 300mg/day. The dose can be increased after 7 days in the increment of 50mg per day and maximum daily dose should not exceed by 300mg daily. While for children, a dose of 25 mg once in a day is recommended.

Side effects of Luvox


The user of Luvox may experience some adverse effects as of weight gain, low sexual drive, periods changes, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mount, feeling sleepy, loss stools and feeling not hungry.

  • The pregnant women and nursing mother should not have to take Luvox.
